Good to know
You'll feel it the moment you walk in…the skylights pour natural light into the kitchen, the boho decor is warm and carefully chosen, and the neighborhood outside is exactly where you want to be. This is a rear south facing apartment on the first floor of an adorable 1890’s building at the border of Wicker Park and Bucktown. The living room looks out onto the shared patio, the kitchen glows under its skylights all day long, and the whole place has a relaxed, creative energy that makes it easy to unwind. The apartment is completely private and all yours. Please be considerate of neighbors and observe quiet hours 10pm–8am. No parties and registered guests only. 🏠 The Layout ENTER THROUGH THE KITCHEN (the skylit heart of the apartment) ► Beautiful skylights overhead - natural light floods in all day over the dining table and cooktop ► Large eat-in kitchen with full dining table - the natural gathering spot ► Fully stocked: cookware, utensils, dinnerware, coffee maker, toaster, full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave. Use anything you find. ► Full bathroom directly off the kitchen LIVING ROOM ► Comfortable seating - large L-shaped couch and chair for lounging ► Smart TV for streaming ► Big windows allow in natural light ► Twin bed PRIVATE BEDROOM (with a door and large closet) ► Queen bed ► Big closet storage THE SLEEPING DEN (off the living room — semi-private with curtain) ► Queen bed ► Privacy curtain for separation ⚠️ The den is separated from the living room by a curtain, not a door or wall. Cosy and private enough for most guests — but if full bedroom separation matters to your group, please factor this in before booking. 🛏 Sleeping Arrangements ► Queen bed - in private bedroom ► Queen bed - in curtained den ► Twin bed - in living area ► Sleeps up to 5 guests ✨ Amenities ☀️ Skylights in the kitchen 🔥 Shared backyard patio with firepit + BBQ grill 📶 High-speed Wi-Fi 📺 Smart TV 🚗 Free street parking 🛁 Fresh linens and towels provided for every guest 👶 Pack-n-play available on request - just ask before arrival 🧺 Washer/dryer in the building (shared, not in-unit) 🌿 420-friendly - see house rules below for details
Other Details to Note
⚠️ 5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK We'd rather you know now than be surprised later. 1. 🏡Historic Building — Real Character, Real Wear Built in 1890 and maintained, but not a brand-new build. Think character, not cookie-cutter. Some vintage wear throughout. We clean thoroughly between every guest, but if gleaming new construction is what you're after, this may not be the right fit. 2. 🛋 The Den Has a Curtain, Not a Door The second queen bed sits in a den off the living room, separated by a privacy curtain — not a wall or a door. It's cozy and works well for most guests. But if complete bedroom separation is important for everyone in your party, please keep this in mind before booking. 3. 🛣 Near a Freeway One block from a major arterial road. You will NOT hear freeway noise inside the apartment or in the backyard, but the area is dustier than quieter residential streets. We deep clean between every booking. 4. 🐀 Chicago's Rat Reality Chicago is consistently ranked #1 in the US for rats — it's a citywide issue, not specific to this building or block. You may occasionally see one on the sidewalk or patio in warmer months. The city actively manages pest control. We mention it so you're informed, not alarmed. 5. 🌿 420-Friendly — What That Means Cannabis is welcome here (see house rules for where). We ozone between every booking, but some residual smell is possible. If cannabis odour is a concern for you, this may not be the right fit. Cigarette smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. 👶 Traveling with a baby or young child? A pack-n-play is available on request — just let us know before arrival. 🧺 Washer/dryer is in the building (shared), not inside the unit. 📋 HOUSE RULES ► No parties. $500 fee if this rule is broken. No unregistered guests. Communicate any visitors ► No pets. ► Max 5 registered guests only. ► Quiet hours: 10pm–8am. Other tenants share this building. ► Check-in: 3:00pm | Check-out: 11:00am ► Self check-in via keypad — code arrives 24 hrs before arrival. 🌿 420 Rules ► Cannabis welcome indoors (no blunts or spliffs) and on the back patio ► NEVER on the front deck — neighbours and passersby are right there ► Cigarettes outside only. Butts in the outdoor trash — not inside the unit. 🌡 Thermostat Do not engage HOLD outside 65°F–75°F range. 🚽 Toilets — Important Flush toilet paper ONLY. No wipes, no feminine products — ever. Violations = minimum $200 plumber fee + the unit may become unusable mid-stay. Don't let this be the reason your trip ends early. 🗝 Checkout All guests + belongings out by 11am.
